GKC manages the lifecycle of Observability/Monitoring technologies including, but not limited to: updates, upgrades, and patch management. Through our consultancy services we provide design and build assistance for these technologies.

A recent example of this; was the migration of an on-premise monitoring platform to the vendors cloud platform. This included migration planning, migration of data, and configuration to the cloud platform, followed by testing, documentation and decommissioning of the on-premise environment.

We provide full-service license management for multiple Observability/Monitoring technologies including initial procurement, renewals, expansions, and licensing model optimisation such as moving from an on-premise platform to a cloud platform.

We work with our customers to optimise and maximise the use of their Observability/Monitoring technologies. For example, by providing guidance on approaches to minimise ingestion of data into consumption-based platforms.

GKC provide real time monitoring and alerting of license usage.

Quality assurance and testing is standard practice across both our project and support services. The level and verbosity of QA and testing varies based on each organisation’s requirements.

Due to the size and nature of our customer base, rigorous testing is usually required, with pre and post project testing across various environments, and a level of user acceptance testing applicable to the work.

Data from Observability/Monitoring technologies provide capacity planners with objective information about the usage of infrastructure, applications and platforms used to deliver their services. Data can be real time usage or based on previous peak periods.

We assist organisations with capacity management of Observability/Monitoring technologies and the platforms they run on.

GKC project services can use Observability/Monitoring technologies to provide Finops which allows an agency to analyse the costs of public cloud services. Finops helps the agency forecast, plan and budget future cloud spending. In some cases, automation can be created to dynamically optimise cloud environments resulting in cost savings.

Managing renewal and expiry tracking of these.

Monitoring the products themselves - we have processes and tools in place to allow us to ensure that your monitoring environments are still performing as expected.

Reviewing these as they are released to assess benefits/need/urgency of applying them along with any risks and possible incompatibilities.
